Cleaning and Exams

Regular Dental cleanings and exams are important in maintaining good oral health.

Cleaning and Exams Details

Regular Dental cleanings and exams are important in maintaining good oral health. Our hygienists are highly trained to efficiently and painlessly remove plaque and tartar build up off your teeth. At your dental cleaning we also perform a thorough periodontal charting to check for gum and bone disease, a head and neck exam to check for any abnormal lesions, and a dental exam to evaluate your need for fillings or other dental work.

Periodontal Therapy

Managing plaque and tartar build up underneath the gum line.

Periodontal Therapy Details

In some cases, plaque and tartar have built up underneath your gum line. In such cases a deeper cleaning called scaling and root planning will need to be done to maintain healthier gums. It's important to not allow this build up under the gum tissue to remain there, as it can lead to bone loss and eventually tooth loss. Of course, we keep you comfortable during this procedure by numbing you if necessary.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays help us see what is going on using high-resolution films with minimal amounts of radiation.

Fillings

Fillings may need to be done due to tooth decay or because of cracks and breaks.

Fillings Details

Fillings may need to be done due to tooth decay or because of cracks and breaks. Before having your filling, we will apply topical anesthetic to numb your gum tissue, followed by administering local anesthetic to numb your tooth. Once the area is prepared we will then place a tooth colored filling and finish it by adjusting your bite and polishing the area. If you are anxious for dental treatment we are happy to work with you to help you have the best experience possible.

Crowns

When a tooth has become weakened it is necessary to prepare the tooth for a crown.

Crowns Details

When a tooth has become weakened either from a previous large filling or from some sort of trauma it is necessary to prepare the tooth for a crown. Before your procedure we will apply topical anesthetic followed by local anesthetic to numb your tooth. To prepare the tooth for the crown we remove a small amount of structure from every angle. We then take an impression of the tooth so a local laboratory can fabricate you a custom fit crown. While the laboratory is making your crown we make you a temporary crown to protect the area. You will return for a short second appointment where we cement your permanent crown.

Implants

When tooth loss occurs, dental implants are a wonderful option for replacement.

Implants Details

When tooth loss occurs, dental implants are a wonderful option for replacement. There are various types of implants that can be used for different situations and we will work with you to see what your best options are. If the tooth loss occurs in an area where aesthetics is a concern, we can custom fit you with a temporary prosthesis, so the empty area is not visible while your treatment is being completed.

Whitening

We offer both a custom system and a semi-custom system.

Whitening Details

Coffee, tea, and red wine can cause staining over time and our whitening systems are a great way to brighten your smile back up! We offer both a custom system and a semi-custom system. The doctor will evaluate your smile to ensure you are a good candidate and to help you decide which system is best for you.

Fixed Bridgework

An option when tooth loss has occurred is a fixed partial denture or "bridge".

Fixed Bridgework Details

A wonderful option when tooth loss has occurred is a fixed partial denture or "bridge". We utilize the teeth on either side of the space to work as posts to hold on the bridge and fill the space. The procedure is very similar to that of a crown. We achieve numbness, prepare the tooth structure, take impressions and make you a temporary to wear as the laboratory makes the final product. You will return to us a few weeks later and we will remove the temporary and fit the final product.

Removable Partials

When multiple teeth in an arch are missing a partial denture is a great way to restore your bite and your aesthetics.

Removable Partials Details

When multiple teeth in an arch are missing a partial denture is a great way to restore your bite and your aesthetics. A removable partial denture is a device that can come in and out of your mouth and hooks onto your remaining teeth for retention. The doctor will evaluate your remaining teeth to determine the design of your partial. Impressions will be taken, and the laboratory and doctor will work together to create a custom partial just for you.

A denture is an acrylic prosthesis that we custom fit to make you a brand-new smile.

Dentures Details

A denture is an acrylic prosthesis that we custom fit to make you a brand-new smile. Tooth loss can be hard to deal with emotionally and physically, but we work closely with you to help you through this transition. Detailed impressions will be taken, and records will be made in order to replicate your natural bite. We will also pick out tooth color and shape to help your new smile look as natural as possible. Now we can also construct a complete denture that works with implants to fix the denture into place.

Root Canals

If a tooth has a large cavity or has suffered some sort of trauma, a root canal can often be done to save the tooth.

Root Canals Details

If a tooth has a large cavity or has suffered some sort of trauma, a root canal can often be done to save the tooth. After both topical and local anesthetic are given, the pulp of the tooth is removed, and the remaining tooth structure is cleaned of all bacteria and debris. The area is then filled with a calming material and a large filling is placed on top of it. After a tooth has gone through a root canal it is then often recommended to have a crown made to protect the remaining tooth structure.
